This keeper clamp is used for holding up your roller bearing at the bottom of your steering column once it starts sliding down after the plastic starts to deteriorate. Or as preventative measure to prevent failure.

A relief is machined into the clap to offset the missing plastic.

No modification or removal of column is required. simply slide on to your column like the picture and tighten the two screws evenly.

If your bearing has deteriorated beyond this repair, you will need to rebuild your column.

If the retainer does not sit flush like in the photos, you will need to tap the inner race into position until it does sit like the photo.
